Belasco Theatre

Formerly the Stuyvesant Theatre

  • 1,016 seats
  • 3levels
  • Proscenium stage
  • Opened 1907

Imani's take

One of the prettiest rooms on Broadway — Tiffany glass, dark wood, murals. Three levels on a 1,016-seat house means the top tier is steep but not far. It's east of Seventh, so it's a quick walk from the Sixth Avenue trains too.

— Imani Carter, spectacle editor

Where to Sit at the Belasco Theatre

Levels, bottom to top: Orchestra → First balcony → Second balcony. A mid-size house. Boxes: boxes at the second-balcony level.

Three levels in a compact house

1,016 seats over three levels means the room is built vertically, not deep. The top tier is steep, but it is closer to the stage than its altitude suggests — a better deal here than in the big musical houses.

About those boxes

Box seats look glamorous and sit at a hard angle to the stage — expect to lose part of the far side of the set. Buy them to be seen, not to see.

Our rule of thumb

For a play, get close and center. For a spectacle, get high and center. Partial-view seats are discounted for a reason — check the seat map before you buy.
